If you have been following me for a while you would know by now that I am a massive advocate for ‘rotational core strength’ as well as ‘upper body integration exercises.’
Judo players must haveÂrotational core strength and they must be able to use their upper body whilst contracting their core muscles.
Rope rotations actually incorporate both of these essential concepts as well as:
– grip strength
– pulling strength (for pulling your opponent off balance)
– rotational core strength
– uni lateral (meaning you do 1 hand at a time)
– upper body and core integration
All of these attributes are perfect for us as Judo players.
Give Rope Rotations a go next time you are at the gym and let me know how you go by replying to this email.
